چکیده

We consider three-dimensional lattice SU($N_c$) gauge theories with multiflavor ($N_f>1$) scalar fields in the adjoint representation. investigate their phase diagram, identify different Higgs phases gauge-symmetry pattern, and determine nature of transition lines. In particular, we study role played by quartic potential gauge-group representation determining global symmetry-breaking patterns characterizing transitions. The general arguments are confirmed numerical analyses Monte Carlo results for two representative models that expected to have qualitatively diagrams phases. model $N_c = 3$, $N_f=2$ $N_c=2$, $N_f= 4$. This second case is interesting phenomenologically describe some features cuprate superconductors.

Flux tubes in three-dimensional lattice gauge theories.

Measurements of flux-tubes generated by sources in different representations of SU(2) and U(1) lattice gauge theory in three dimensions are reported. Heavy “quarks” are considered in three representations of SU(2): fundamental (j = 1/2), adjoint (j = 1), and quartet (j = 3/2). Wilson loops are used to introduce a static quark-antiquark (QjQj) pair. Several attributes of the fields generated by ...

Real Representation in Chiral Gauge Theories on the Lattice

The Weyl fermion belonging to the real representation of the gauge group provides a simple illustrative example for Lüscher’s gauge-invariant lattice formulation of chiral gauge theories. We can explicitly construct the fermion integration measure globally over the gauge-field configuration space in the arbitrary topological sector; there is no global obstruction corresponding to the Witten ano...

Non-analyticities in Three-dimensional Gauge Theories

Quantum fluctuations generate in three-dimensional gauge theories not only radiative corrections to the Chern-Simons coupling but also non-analytic terms in the effective action. We review the role of those terms in gauge theories with massless fermions and Chern-Simons theories. The explicit form of non-analytic terms turns out to be dependent on the regularization scheme and in consequence th...

Induced magnetic moments in three-dimensional gauge theories with external magnetic fields

We study the appearance of induced parity-violating magnetic moment, in the presence of external magnetic fields, for even-number of fermion species coupled to dynamical fields in three dimensions. Specifically, we use a SU(2) × U(1) gauge model for dynamical gauge symmetry breaking, which has also been proposed recently as a field theorerical model for high-Tc superconductors. By decomposing t...

Two-dimensional lattice gauge theories with superconducting quantum circuits

A quantum simulator of [Formula: see text] lattice gauge theories can be implemented with superconducting circuits. This allows the investigation of confined and deconfined phases in quantum link models, and of valence bond solid and spin liquid phases in quantum dimer models. Fractionalized confining strings and the real-time dynamics of quantum phase transitions are accessible as well. Here w...
